Natacha Rambova Portrait Restoration at Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Salt Lake City, UT
A portrait completed about 1920 features Natacha Rambova, Heiress to the Hudnut Cosmetics fortune and benefactor to the Utah Museun of Fine Art was recently restored with a donation by the Joy Kingston Foundation. In additon, Natacha was a ballerina, an early film set and costume designer, but was also the wife of silent film icon, Rudolph Valentino. Valentino was well known for movies like 1921’s “The Sheik.” Both paintings currently reside in the Utah Museum of Fine Arts in Salt Lake City. The Joy Kingston Foundation was pleased to participate in the restoration of Natacha’s portrait so that it can once again be displayed at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts in Salt Lake City, UT.
Barris’ Batmobile Hits the Auction Block
The original Batmobile designed and built by Georgre Barris, King of the Customizers, sold at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona last week for a whopping $4.2 million! When our Chairman, Paul Matthew Layne met George Barris at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, Californa in October, George spoke very fondly of his creation which was based on the Lincoln Futura concept car from the late 1950’s.

The Joy Kingston Foundation held its first annual golf tournament at the Spanish Hills Country Club
on October 29, 2012. The goal was to raise funds for the Foundation’s scholarship program benefiting
students in our local community who are pursuing a career in design – and it was a big success!
